Bu Bu Jing Qing - Episode 6

How did Zhang Xiao end up with Kang Si Han after first going on a spying mission with Huang Di?  I guess that's the best part of this episode for me.  That and the bit with Kang Si Yu at the end.  I'm biased towards these guys, so there.  And before I forget, I thought Zhang Xiao looked really nice with her hair in a cap.  Makes her look mischievous and spunky!

The episode opened with my least favourite scene of Zhang Xiao yet again trying to tender her resignation to Kang Zhen Tian.  I hate it when she kept saying I'm sorry.
Zhang Xiao tried to deny that Yin Zheng is the reason that she wants to leave but Kang Zhen Tian was smart enough to see through her.  She tried to make the excuse that she couldn't possibly stay despite having the matter resolved because the hairpin did get lost while in her care.  Kang Zhen Tian wasn't going to let her off and even magnanimously said that a lost hairpin is a lost hairpin but he wasn't going to allow that to make him lose a good staff, which would result in a loss for the Zhen Tian Group.

Did your jaws hit the table yet?  Wow.  Who would expect the Kang Xi Emperor to improve with time?  If he had been this good in Bu Bu Jing Xin, many tragedies could have been averted, many sufferings avoided and we could have got a happy-ever-after!  'Tis a pity.  Kang Zhen Tian even told Zhang Xiao here that since he had already forgiven Yin Zheng, he couldn't possibly not forgive her.  Yup, let your jaws drop.

I like the Kang Xi Emperor and Ruoxi before and I like Kang Zhen Tian and Zhang Xiao now.

Yin Zheng's assistant reported her investigations on Z&X and reluctantly revealed that the owner of Z&X is Kang Si Han.
If Yin Zheng had been as smart as the Fourth Prince (cough, cough), he would have guessed that the real reason Kang Zhen Tian wanted him to crush Z&X was to force Kang Si Han to return to the Zhen Tian Group as his heir.  But I guess that as he looked at the hidden family photo, his thought was solely of revenge.  In the photo, he was the only unsmiling one.  I love Kang Si Yu's happy smile and even Kang Si Han had an open smile.  What a lovely family.

Yin Zheng called Kang Si Han out for a meeting.
I love Kang Si Han for daring to stand up to the big bully Yin Zheng.  Upon meeting him at the golf course, he said to Yin Zheng, if you have something to say, say it quick.  Yin Zheng rebuked by saying that his temper was still the same over the years and if he should have called him "Big Brother" first.  Ah, so that confirms that Yin Zheng is the eldest while Kang Si Han is the second son and Kang Si Yu is the baby of the family.

After Yin Zheng made a mockery out of Z&X by saying that this company wouldn't be able to weather any storm, Kang Si Han retorted by telling him that he used his own efforts to establish the company unlike someone else who kept denying that he was a Kang Family member but still meekly followed orders in the company.  Yin Zheng then said that it doesn't matter if the hand is broken but what matters is the end results.

Yin Zheng then revealed that Zhen Tian Group was going to take over Z&X.  A flashback revealed that as kids, Kang Zhen Tian used to bring his two elder boys to the driving range where Kang Si Han always outshone Yin Zheng.  However, Yin Zheng now warned Kang Si Han that he was no longer the loser he was (yeah, right) and told him to close down Z&X.
I love this look on Kang Si Han that basically says I'm not afraid of you, Yin Zheng.  And he turned his back on him with such suave.
After his clash with Kang Si Han, who else could Yin Zheng bully but Zhang Xiao?  He approached her table at the cafeteria and rudely knocked on it.  He asked why was she still around when she said that he won't see her anymore.  She grumpily agreed with his statement that the company is too good for her to leave.  He then told her to be very careful so as not to make any mistakes that he could catch her with.
Jack makes you laugh so, you won't grudge him for being such a mean supervisor to Zhang Xiao.  As expected (or not), he asked Zhang Xiao to go spying on Z&X and when she refused, he asked if she thought he was going to the dirty job himself and call Boss Yin along?  The unsuspecting Huang Di came in and happily accepted a new assignment with Zhang Xiao.
Huang Di's reactions when he heard that the assignment was to spy on a rival company and that company happened to be Z&X were hilarious.  This is another guy who improves with time from Bu Bu Jing Xin.  He and the Kang Xi Emperor.  Zhang Xiao said that she refused to go and he said that this assignment was for both of them, not to pick one from the two.  Haha!
Zhang Xiao did one of the best things in this drama by looking for Kang Si Han.  He happily thought that she was inviting him out for a meal but she told him that she was going to tell him a company secret.  She asked him to warn his boss that the Zhen Tian Group was going to send spies to next week's exhibition to steal Z&X's business secrets.  Kang Si Han asked if this information was reliable and she said it's up to him to believe it or not.  He told her that he trusted her.

Even after the warning, Kang Si Han still had the mood to ask her out for a meal but she declined by explaining that she had no appetite.  She left behind a smiling Kang Si Han, already forewarned and apparently touched by her gesture.
I will always be left wondering how did Zhang Xiao and Huang Di become a couple previously.  They are so freaking cute.
This is the two of them before the start of their spying mission.  Huang Di said that his heart was going to jump out while Zhang Xiao said her head felt the same.  He said that he hadn't bought any insurance and if anything were to happen to him, she had to be responsible for him.  How much cuter can this couple be?

After their cover was nearly blown, this happened while they were running away.  Huang Di bumped into a guy carrying boxes.
Guess who Zhang Xiao helped to his feet and dragged outside?
She was scolding him "stupid" when she suddenly turned around and came face to face with "Inspector Black Cat."  He went, "Wah" before asking why hadn't he seen any Zhen Tian Group spies after two days of being on alert.  She then revealed that she was the spy sent.  He was very amused and when he asked for her phone, I thought that he was going to delete the photos she took.  Instead, he transferred some Z&X designs from his phone to hers.  He told her to use whatever that could be used in her report and she was touched by his action.
Can I say how much I love this mutual exchange?  Zhang Xiao warned Kang Si Han about the spies.  He wanted her to have something to report to her bosses.  In the end, both did what was right.  He gave her some fake designs but she deleted them out of righteousness, earning his admiration and this smile.
Zhang Xiao left to look for Huang Di, who was nursing a big bruise on his right eye.  He asked if anyone still cared if he lived or died.
She tried to cheer him up by offering to take him to the hospital and when he refused, she said she will give him a treat.  He pushed his luck by making a list of demands that she accepted but he earned another punch when he tried to kiss her.
Kang Si Han returned to his office where his assistant reported about the two spies from Zhen Tian Group.  His assistant was worried about that company's attack on Z&X but Kang Si Han said he had a strategy to counter them.  Back at Zhen Tian Group, Yin Zheng was furious when Zhang Xiao and Huang Di submitted a blank report in defiance.

Stone-faced Yin Zheng then went to look for sour-faced Lan Lan.  He said "long time no see."  She asked why she hadn't seen him in the office, why he hadn't answered her calls and when she texted, he merely replied "meeting."  She asked him if he had been bewitched by another flower but he said that he only liked magnolias.

After trying to explain his disappearance, he asked that they be together.  She said that he didn't know how imperfect she was.  He rebutted that perfect doesn't exist in his dictionary.  He then told her about his perfect half-brother, Kang Si Han.  Another (boring) flashback shows how the "kind-hearted" Yin Zheng was late to class for helping an old aunt with her dropped apples and Kang Si Han getting praised by their teacher for topping a competition.

We learnt that more than twenty years ago, Kang Si Han was sent abroad to study and Yin Zheng's suspicious of his timely return when Kang Zhen Tian's health is declining.
No two better people who deserved each other more as they share another heart-to-heart.  Lan Lan asked why Yin Zheng was telling her all this and wasn't he afraid that she would expose him.  He said that as long as she was happy, he would tell her anything.  Bleah!  Where's Icy Face Fourth Prince?  He even said that when two imperfect people got together, they can become perfect.  And they kissed.  Who else have to knock and disturb them but Zhang Xiao?

Lan Lan was very rude to Zhang Xiao three times when she: (1) asked why hadn't Zhang Xiao resigned; (2) accused her of wanting to steal her magnolia earring when she was looking at it; and (3) said that did Zhang Xiao expect her to throw away the wilted magnolias herself.  Credits to Zhang Xiao who stood up to her not once but three times and walked away.

At her cubicle, Zhang Xiao was left wondering where she had seen the magnolia earring before.  When she was younger?  At her old house?  She lamented that her memory was getting worse after the accident.  If only she realised how much she had actually forgotten!

A message from Kang Si Han cheered Zhang Xiao up when he asked if she had been scolded by her boss.  He even asked her to consider moving to his company.  Sour Yin Zheng came along and spoiled the mood by reprimanding her for playing messenger during work hours.

The episode dramatically improves with Kang Si Yu's appearance.  He was feeling bored / distracted in the bar and took out her X-ray to look.  That boy is positively infatuated with her!
I love the different versions of Zhang Xiao that appeared in his mind.
He asked why was she still wearing such drab clothes when she came to look for him.
He wanted someone who rocks but decided she couldn't compete with Ling Dang.
Someone elegant couldn't cut it either.
He wanted someone very cute.  But he adorably said his mother wouldn't agree and wanted someone stylish.  How much sweeter can a boy be for thinking about his mom while being infatuated?
While Zhang Xiao was peacefully minding her own business, Kang Si Yu decided to torment her just as her images were tormenting him.
He sent her texts, called into a TV show to complain about a girl who owed him money and was refusing to pay up and sent an IOU statement by courier.  Zhang Xiao felt like she was being haunted by a ghost!  The next day, as she left work, Kang Si Yu followed behind until he nearly got taser-ed by her.
She told him that she received all his reminders and he asked why hadn't she replied and caused him to worry all night.  It appeared that he was genuinely worried about her but he tried to cover up by saying that he was worried about the safety of the interest that she owed him.  She said that she will definitely pay him back but he made her angry by saying that a girl like her with no car, no house and no boyfriend is capable of anything, even murder, like when she nearly electrocuted him with her Taser.

In fury, she dumped her whole bag at him and stormed off before threatening him with her Taser again.  He wondered why she couldn't take his joke but he said, "I like it."
Later that day, we find Kang Si Yu looking through Zhang Xiao's bag and chanced upon her diary.  He was mad to read that she scolded him badly but looked like a happy cat when he found her name card indicating that she was an employee of Zhen Tian Group.

My Thoughts:

This is Kang Si Han in office while thinking of Zhang Xiao after the spying incident.
This is Zhang Xiao before punching Huang Di after he dared to demand a kiss.
This is Kang Si Yu upon finding Zhang Xiao's name card.

If these three characters can remain this happy-go-lucky for as long as they can in this drama before the angst starts, I will be happy.  More of them, please.  Even Jack and Huang Di.  Less of the sour people.

Bu Bu Jing Qing - Episode 5

Three brothers.  Three encounters.  All in one episode and I can't quite decide which one I like best.  Well, that's not entirely true.  I have no love for Yin Zheng and thus, the first encounter is surely not a favourite of mine.  The second would have been my choice if not for what happened in the previous episode.  Hence, the winner in my eyes in this episode is Kang Si Yu!  I'll tell you why I love the third encounter best in a bit.

The episode opens with Kang Zhen Tian nearly having a heart attack when he received information that Yin Zheng had a hand in the hairpin theft.  It's a good thing that they let Yin Zheng's mother be in the know as well.  I am of the opinion that much of the misunderstanding Kang Zhen Tian and Yin Zheng had is due to her.  Kang Zhen Tian immediately confronted Yin Zheng in the office and demanded to know where the real hairpin is.

I cannot understand how Yin Zheng could coolly tell Kang Zhen Tian that he did hire someone to steal the hairpin but had no idea where the real hairpin is.  He claimed that he was supposed to pay the thief a hundred grand but he had disappeared with the hairpin, most probably with the intention of selling it for a higher price.  After causing Zhang Xiao so much grievances, he could just nonchalantly declare now that he will bear all responsibility.  Gah!  I wish Kang Zhen Tian had made good on his threat to send Yin Zheng into prison so that I wouldn't have to see him and Lan Lan around.

In the board meeting, Kang Zhen Tian announced that Yin Zheng was going to be demoted and kicked out of the Beijing headquarters to work in their subsidiary in Lanchang.  Yin Zheng immediately pleaded for another chance to atone for his sin so that he could continue being in Beijing.  Darn it.  Why couldn't he have agreed to go and bring Lan Lan along?  The company would then be a much better place for everyone.

Kang Zhen Tian offered to let him stay only if he agreed to stand outside the company and personally apologised to all the company staff for his misconduct.  To his surprise, Yin Zheng agreed.  Geez, at this moment, I really miss the Kangxi Emperor who threw the hot tea cup at the Fourth Prince in Bu Bu Jing Xin.  He is being far too lenient with Yin Zheng after this gross misconduct.  Of course it had to rain on that day and it rained heavily on Yin Zheng as he stood outside in humility and bowing to each of the passers-by.

One of the staff watching from their floor actually said, "Poor Yin Zheng" and I nearly choked.  Poor Yin Zheng?  He hired a thief to steal the hairpin.  He orchestrated the whole thing to get rid of Zhang Xiao.  And now the real hairpin is actually lost.  So, I am definitely not sorry for Yin Zheng.  What happened to the Kangxi who put the Thirteenth Prince in house arrest or wanted to kill the Fourteenth Prince for speaking out of turn?  Kang Zhen Tian is seen looking at Yin Zheng from the glass door and is that pity I see in his eyes?

Zhang Xiao came running with a red umbrella.  I nearly fainted when Kang Zhen Tian actually apologised to her on behalf of Yin Zheng.  And he even let Zhang Xiao get on with what she wanted to do.  I was secretly pleased when Yin Zheng told her straight in the face that he didn't need anyone's pity and pushed her away.  I think Zhang Xiao likes being abused and she persisted.  Hence, the first encounter above.  Yin Zheng's assistant came out to say that Kang Zhen Tian had allowed him to come in.  Where, oh, where is the Kangxi who made Ruoxi kneel in the rain for three days and three nights?

I have no idea why Zhang Xiao feels that she has to say all those "comforting" words to Yin Zheng.  Who is she to him?  Maybe she thinks that he's obligated to listen for the wrong he has done to her but it's a wonder that Yin Zheng threw the red umbrella later after she left instead of right at her.  The poor red umbrella was left outside until night time when Zhang Xiao picked it up on her way out and we see Yin Zheng being wiped dry by Lan Lan in a passing car.

Can I skip all the Yin Zheng/Lan Lan scenes?  I get it that they both had crappy childhoods but it's no reason for being angry and so against the world.  Another heart-to-heart where Lan Lan kept telling Yin Zheng, "I understand, I totally understand what you are saying."  Lan Lan told him that she felt that he's the only one who can protect her and she cannot lose him.  Then, they kissed.  Bleah.

On to a happier scene - the second encounter.  Kang Si Han and Zhang Xiao just had dinner together and he commented on her ability to eat so much.  She started telling him about her work problem.
That's the look on Kang Si Han's face after the following conversation.

Zhang Xiao:  Do you really want to know my story?
Kang Si Han:  I want to know everything about you.

When the awkward looks were exchanged, he adorably went "Ah..." and covered up his slip of the tongue with the excuse that he's a naturally curious person.  They ended up talking about Yin Zheng, the "Crown Prince" at Zhen Tian Group.  When he asked for her opinion on him, she surprised him by saying that she thinks he's a pitiful person.

Yin Zheng woke up to breakfast in bed prepared by Lan Lan.  And then, shockers!  He presented her with the real magnolia hairpin.  That lying Yin Zheng!  He's such an idiot too.  He really thought that it was Lan Lan whom he met at the exhibition.  This is a mess I wouldn't mind not cleared up.  Hah!
Kang Si Yu!  He's just too cool for words.  I started liking him in this particular scene from the trailer.  As he's busy impressing the girls in his bar, his father walked in.  It's obvious that he's the most good-natured son of Kang Zhen Tian.  I don't remember ever seeing Kangxi being this chummy with any sons.  It is indeed heartwarming to see father and son having a heart-to-heart.

Kang Zhen Tian:  Si Yu, how old are you this year?
Kang Si Yu:  I am 24.
Kang Zhen Tian:  24 is not young anymore.  You cannot be playing every day.  Any plans for the future?
Kang Si Yu:  Plans?  Not much.  My plan is just to be happy every day.
Kang Si Yu:  I want to be happier today compared to yesterday and I want to be happier tomorrow than today.

Kang Zhen Tian then told him that since he is his son, he has responsibilities and cannot be leading an idle, carefree life.  Kang Si Yu said that he's not interested in the company because he didn't want to end up being unhappy like his father and his big brother.

From his youngest son, Kang Zhen Tian went to see his second son, Kang Si Han, if only from afar.  It is ironic that in Bu Bu Jing Qing, Kang Zhen Tian had to look for a successor from among his sons while in Bu Bu Jing Xin, he had unwelcomed aspirants to the throne.

Yin Zheng was woken up by his assistant who said that she had the writing on the box deciphered.

"For you can't enter my world, I'll come looking for you in your world."

AH!  Bu Bu Jing Xin feels.  Too bad Yin Zheng is like the Mr Hyde to the Dr Jekyll of the Fourth Prince and Zhang Xiao lost her memories of Ruoxi.  And it's somewhat unromantic that this iconic line was spoken by Yin Zheng's assistant to him over the phone.  I can't wait for the line to really mean something to Yin Zheng and Zhang Xiao later on.

After we are served with THE line by Bu Bu Jing Qing, we see both Zhang Xiao and Yin Zheng pondering over the same magnolia drawing.  More surprisingly is as Yin Zheng fingered his jade ring, his thoughts went to Zhang Xiao at the hospital when she grabbed his arms and begged him not to go.  Is he beginning to suspect that it was Zhang Xiao whom he met at the exhibition?
Huang Di makes an appearance and he's threatened by Zhang Xiao into revealing the person who gave him the money for her to pay the company.  She tried to make him return the money but he refused.  I wonder why he didn't tell her about the liquor he drank to get the money.
While looking for Kang Si Yu, Zhang Xiao bumped into Ling Dang instead.

Ling Dang:  Are you his new girlfriend?  Schoolmate?  Neighbour?  Are you going after him?  A secret admirer?
Zhang Xiao:  No.  No.  No.  No.  No.
Ling Dang:  Then, what is your relationship with him?
Zhang Xiao:  Enemies.

Zhang Xiao found Kang Si Yu at the horse track and thus, begins one of my most favourite scenes of the series.  We see that Kang Si Yu loves to take selfies and posting them online.  When he saw Zhang Xiao approaching, he thought that she came to ask for more money.  As they were discussing the money she came to return and the interest he said that she had to pay, a couple of guys set off firecrackers and scared the horses.

I loved the way Zhang Xiao stepped up to the situation.  She lassoed the frightened horse and went on the ride of her life.  She looked like a girl possessed but all I can think of is The Fourth Prince taught her how to ride!  And she looked fantastic doing the riding in the modern world.  I'm glad she rode in front of Kang Si Yu, who was genuinely filled with admiration.

Kang Si Yu said that her horse-riding stunts were very pretty and asked if her boyfriend (Huang Di) taught her.  They started bickering about boyfriends and girlfriends.
This is Kang Si Yu's face when Zhang Xiao mistook Ling Dang as his girlfriend.  I laughed out loud many times during this third encounter.  The first time was when she thought he had too many girlfriends and he said he had none.  The second time was that mistake.  And the third time was when it was revealed that Zhang Xiao was tricked by Kang Si Yu into thinking that she owed him 3,900 dollars in interest when it was actually just 390 dollars.

The episode ends with Kang Zhen Tian asking Yin Zheng to crush Z&X as a test of his capability and to atone for his previous mistake, and Zhang Xiao having the nerve to ask for an apology from Yin Zheng.  I tell you that girl simply loves to be abused.

My Thoughts:

Kang Zhen Tian has been nothing but a good and warm father figure so far and I can't help but wonder if his ruthlessness inherent of the Kangxi Emperor is beginning to show.  Of course one would suspect that he wanted to take down Z&X so that Kang Si Han would return to the Zhen Tian Group but to actually ask Yin Zheng do the dirty deed is really despicable.  It reminds me of how Kangxi asked The Fourth Prince to investigate the bribery case involving the Crown Prince and the Ninth Prince.  History is indeed repeating itself.

In case we forget, we are being reminded of the destiny shared between Yin Zheng and Zhang Xiao as reincarnates of the Fourth Prince and Ruoxi.  I must admit that the scene after the iconic line where Yin Zheng and Zhang Xiao were seen staring at the magnolia is rather sweet even though somewhat out of place especially when he suddenly thought of the hospital incident.  Ah, well.  They are the OTP and no matter what or how, they are going to get there.  Despite Lan Lan.  Despite Kang Si Han.  And obviously despite Kang Si Yu.

I would have been happier with the Kang Si Han encounter but I'm sad to say that I'm somehow "over" him.  His smiles don't set my heart aflutter anymore.  Now, Kang Si Yu is the culprit.  That guy has the most dazzling smile ever.  And a guy on horseback makes me swoon every time.  Oh, the way he was chatting on as he calculated the interest really reminded me of the Thirteenth Prince's way of talking to Zhang Xiao.  Is Kang Si Yu a combo of the Thirteenth and Fourteenth Prince?  No wonder he's perfect.

Bu Bu Jing Qing - Episode 4

The episode opens with my least favourite people in the series - Yin Zheng and Lan Lan.  They are indeed having their heart-to-heart at her door.  He asked about her magnolia earring and was easily satisfied with her simple answer that it was given by her now-deceased aunt.  She told him that she will slowly tell him everything that he wants to know about her but pleaded for him to give her time and trust.
Yin Zheng then revealed to her that he thinks she's the one he has been waiting for all his life.  He told her about a recurring dream of a girl whose face he never saw clearly but he remembers that she always had a magnolia with her.  So, he feels that destiny had brought them together.  Bleah!  You've got the wrong girl, Yin Zheng!

Double bleah when before he left, he told Lan Lan not to be angry over an unimportant person and he would settle the problem for her.  Unimportant, Yin Zheng?  If you only knew.  It looks like he does have memories from his Qing Dynasty past and unlucky for him, the wrong girl is holding the clue.

The episode moves to my favourite BFFs having lunch in the company cafeteria when Yin Zheng interrupted them rudely with a knock on their table.  How much more of a jerk do you want to be, Yin Zheng?  At the rate you are going, I'm even going to like Huang Di more than you.  He began to exhibit traits of the boss from hell by finding faults with Zhang Xiao's previous magnolia designs and asking her to do another more elegant one.
His cause is helped by the shoe-polisher Jack, who reprimanded Zhang Xiao for daring to ask Yin Zheng to explain his task.  Jack even told Yin Zheng that Zhang Xiao will submit her work the next day instead of after the two-day deadline he initially set.  I can forgive Jack because of his blockhead Tenth Prince past, so I'll let his mean attitude slide.
Huang Di is my favourite guy among the three in that scene.  He has improved tremendously from the Huang Di we met in Bu Bu Jing Xin.  Anyway, I was less than impressed with Zhang Xiao who immediately threatened to resign and that earned her a mean retort from Yin Zheng about vomitting out the lunch she just had if she was going to quit there and then.  The Ruoxi I know wouldn't have been waving the white flag everywhere- first at Kang Zhen Tian and now at Yin Zheng?
As part of her assignment, Zhang Xiao caught the first glimpse of the magnolia hairpin when it was brought out of the safe.  At that exact moment when she first sight on it, I wonder what her thoughts would be if she hadn't lost her memories.  Zhang Xiao, the Fourth Prince gave you that!  You wore it on the day you asked him to marry you.  He had it fixed after it was broken and put it on for you, saying that he thought it looked nice on you.  Sigh, Bu Bu Jing Xin memories..

Anyway, the magnolia hairpin was taken out for a photoshoot and was seen to be begging to be stolen as Zhang Xiao was super careless with it.  She left it alone to answer a phone call.  When the electricity supply was suspiciously cut off, she turned her back on it to ask if they could continue with the photoshoot anytime soon.  Then, ta-da, a mysterious hand appeared to whisk the hairpin away.

The theft was reported immediately to Kang Zhen Tian and I loved him for not being merciless with Zhang Xiao.  She deserved his harsh words after all.  But it appears that Yin Zheng already asked her to leave the company and made it out to be all her fault.  Kang Zhen Tian was smart enough to realise that the matter wasn't just a simple theft.  He told Yin Zheng that it is an obvious stunt to get rid of Zhang Xiao whom he personally hired.

While cycling home from work, Zhang Xiao had to fall victim to a snatch thief.  When she tried to pick up her stuff that was thrown on the road, a guy in black came roaring by in his superbike.
Kang Si Yu!  He's so freaking cute and just exudes coolness.  I have high hopes for this guy.  I learnt that he's the reincarnate of the Fourteenth Prince, so I wish for him to always be that sweet guy to Zhang Xiao.  When my other ship (Kang Si Han/Zhang Xiao) sinks, I shall ship him and Zhang Xiao.  So there, Yin Zheng!
He offered her his hand.  She snubbed him, asking if he thought he was at the race track.  On a side note, it looks like all three guys have helped Zhang Xiao in her times of being a damsel-in-distress.  Yin Zheng at the exhibition.  Kang Si Han in front of his place.  And now, Kang Si Yu.  Being rescued by three brothers, what a lucky girl you are, Zhang Xiao.

Kang Si Yu:  Looks like there's nothing wrong with you.  You are pretty but your temper leaves much to be desired.

Theres!  That's the spunky Zhang Xiao reminiscent of the young Ruoxi that I loved!

Kang Si Yu brought Zhang Xiao to the hospital on his superbike (I envy you, Zhang Xiao!) and they had a comical exchange with the doctor.  On their way out of the hospital, he asked for her X-ray film because he was the one who paid all her medical bills.  She was incensed and slammed the plastic bag containing the film at him.
He took the film out to admire it while exclaiming that it was so sexy.  Further enraged, she grabbed the film and hit him with it while calling him a pervert and maniac.  She warned him that she will still look for him if she had any future health problems.  She then asked for his phone.
He asked if she wanted his number.  Oh-em-gee, I love his cheeky smile.  Totally makes me swoon!  She told him that she needed his phone to erase the data on her phone lest that it falls into the hands of another pervert like him.
See how he casually put his arm around her?  The two of them are too cute for words.  If Huang Di and Zhang Xiao are my favourite BFFs, Kang Si Yu and Zhang Xiao are my favourite enemies!
This is what Kang Si Yu left her with after she warned him to get her bike safely to her house or else he'd have to compensate her.  So sweet!  Except that the muddy patch of love grass actually stinks.  Who else but her BFF had to help her clean up the mess?  Huang Di thought she did it as a declaration of love to him when he viewed it from the window upstairs.
First, Kang Si Yu.  Now Kang Si Han.  I am being spoiled.  He sent Zhang Xiao a message asking what was the commotion about.  He surmised that the act was an act of love and teased that she didn't know that's what a guy in love would do for a girl.  She told him that whether it was done out of love or hate, she never wanted to see the perpetrator again.  Notice how cute Huang Di looked as he tried to sneak a peak an the on-going online conversation?

My (current) top three most favourite guys on Bu Bu Jing Qing:  Kang Si Han, Kang Si Yu and Huang Di in that order.  Why is Kang Si Han at the top?  The reasons are below!
Don't his smiles melt your heart?  Le sigh..
Zhang Xiao despatched Huang Di to Kang Si Yu's music bar to get compensation.  After much comical humiliation (a failed kungfu attempt) and a successful dare (finishing all the liquor), Huang Di went home with a 100 grand, which he promptly gave to Zhang Xiao for her to pay the company for the loss of the hairpin.  That earned him a hug!
The next day in the office, she was only met with a cold snub from Yin Zheng who asked her to write a resignation letter, leave the company and never appear in front of the Chairman again.  Fortunately, Kang Zhen Tian was outside and heard what he said, so he came to Zhang Xiao's rescue.  He said that if Zhang Xiao had to be faulted, he would think that Yin Zheng had to share the responsibility.

As Zhang Xiao was moping around in her room and spraying perfume all over to cheer herself up, a text came from Kang Si Han asking if ZX already had dinner.
I love their date.  It is like the sweetest and most refreshing thing in this series when love is all around you.  He impressed her with his sense of smell and she went, wah sei (one of my favourite Chinese expressions of "wow").
He asked her to introduce the dish from her hometown and this is how Kang Si Han looked when she asked him to eat a chili.  He was game enough to take a bite but ended up coughing uncontrollably.  When she asked him why did he still eat it even though he can't stand spicy, he said he was embarrassed not to.  Aww, Kang Si Han..

When Zhang Xiao remarked that she still didn't know his real name despite knowing him for so long, he said to continue calling him "Inspector Black Cat."

Zhang Xiao:  All right, I understand.
Kang Si Han:  What is it that you understand?
Zhang Xiao:  You must have a really awful name.  That's why you refuse to tell me.
Kang Si Han:  No matter what my name is, I am still me.
Zhang Xiao:  I agree.

They then bonded over names and family.  He said that his mother has died and he has lost contact with his father for a long time.  She told him that she was brought up by her father, having lost her mother at a young age.
After dinner, she took him to the park to play fireworks and this ended up being one of my favourite scenes.  Everything from the dinner to the fireworks and the way they were reluctant to call it a night (I love their waves and bye-byes) is just so heartwarming.
But oh, my god.  Is that Kang Si Han hugging Zhang Xiao's best friend, Meng Xin Yi?  I felt like my whole Bu Bu Jing Qing world is falling apart.  Meng Xin Yi showed this photo to Zhang Xiao when she pressed her for a photo of her boyfriend during their Skype conversation.  I knew it, I knew it..  Everything was too good to be true.  I hate you already, Kang Si Han!  You were with Meng Xin Yi first?!?!

After the treachery of Kang Si Han, we are then served with Yin Zheng and Lan Lan in a company auction where he looked too full of himself and she oddly out of place in the Qing costume that obviously belongs to Zhang Xiao.
This is Kang Si Han fetching Zhang Xiao to work because her bike ran out of power but my broken heart no longer feels pure joy.  When she asked if his boss was nice-looking, he said yes but she asked how come she couldn't find his picture anywhere online.  The reason he gave was the same as the one Meng Xin Yi gave- he's a private person.  My heart is totally breaking.

The episode ends with Yin Zheng receiving a call from his assistant notifying him that the hairpin thief had been caught, and Kang Zhen Tian getting back his prized magnolia hairpin from the police.

My Thoughts:

This is the episode that gave me so much happiness in the shape of Kang Si Han, Kang Si Yu and Huang Di but towards the end, everything sweet that was related to Kang Si Han turned awfully bitter and hard to swallow.  The innocent first love shared between him and Zhang Xiao had been tainted in my eyes.  Huang Di doesn't disappoint.  He played the BFF to perfection: standing beside Zhang Xiao while she's under attack, cleaning up the mess with her and facing up to the bully for her.  Kang Si Yu made a grand entrance as the bad boy but his cheeky smile betrays his good side.  My only consolation is when Kang Si Han falls from grace, Kang Si Yu will still be there for Zhang Xiao - like how the Fourteenth Prince was there for Ruoxi at the very end.

I have no love for Yin Zheng and Lan Lan.  Just as long as they stayed wrapped up with each other and in their own world, I am fine with it.  I am actually waiting for Yin Zheng's "pride goes before the fall" moment.  I am thankful for Kang Zhen Tian.  While Yin Zheng's presence turns everything sour for Zhang Xiao, Kang Zhen Tian makes it right again for her and put Yin Zheng back into his rightful corner.

I shall now retire to start nursing my broken heart over my less-than-dreamy ship of Kang Si Han/Zhang Xiao.  Sob!
